If you would like to walk on Maya Lin's sculpture, "2x4 Landscape," be sure to sign up at the Henry Art Gallery's Admissions desk on Thursday, August 10. First come, first served. No advance reservations or phone reservations will be taken. You will be required to sign a liability waiver, and will need to wear special footwear (provided).

David Zucker leads a 30-minute Vipassana meditation in the contemplative space of James Turrell's "Light Reign" Skyspace. Please wear loose clothing; a meditation pillow is optional. Admission is free to the public, but donations to the teacher are welcome.

Reed's Cooley reopens August 29 with a film-based installation by British artist Sutapa Biswas. "Birdsong" comes to the Cooley in conjunction with the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art 2006 Time-Based Art Festival (TBA:06). Biswas will be in residence in Portland to discuss her work, give a special public performance, and screen a selection of her films. Details for these special events will be released soon.
