Shout Out for May.2006: Flintridge Recipients

The Flintridge Foundation recently announced the recipients of their 2005/2006 Awards for Visual Artists. Five artists from Oregon/Washington and five artists from California have been awarded unrestricted grants of a staggering $25,000 each.

The awards honor artists working in fine arts and crafts whose work has demonstrated high artistic merit and a distinctive voice for twenty or more years. The foundation strives to recognize artists who have a sustained career in the arts but are not currently nationally renowned.

The first Awards were presented in 1997/1998, and the foundation has since awarded a total of $1.4 million in grants to 56 individual artists.

Our warmest congratulations go out to all the award recipients, and we'd especially like to virtually salute the following artists hailing from our own stomping grounds:
