Letter from the Editor

Well dear readers, as the year draws to a rapidly clichéd closing whirlwind of holidays, family, friends, dinners, cocktail hours, international art fairs and other chatty obligations, I'll try to make my own words brief.

Above all, I'd like to extend a big thank you to our freelance staff, especially those still around to help populate our skeleton holiday issue this month, namely: Chris Crites, our tireless Listings Editor, Megan Driscoll, who tracked down community members for "Visual Arts Highlights of 2006," Alice Wheeler, our bitchin' Cover Photographer, and Lindsay Latimore, our hawk-eyed Copy Editor.

Next up I'd like to make sure the patience of our One Shot 2006 participants, jurors and entrants alike, doesn't go undervalued. Dates have changed, minor technical issues have followed us around every corner, and yet throughout we have consistently been graced with the company of conscientious, easygoing individuals who helped us get what we needed to do done.

With that in mind, let's also extend our compliments forth to our One Shot 2006 first place entrants, the dynamic duo over at Lead Pencil Studio!! We'll be writing that particular check with great pleasure!!

And don't forget, we still have the One Shot 2006 flipbook to look forward to, with a new target publication date of January 2007.

In the meantime, enjoy your stuffed turkeys, roast geese, sweetmeats, good company, and (for the *really* lucky ones) international art fairing!!
