About Visual Codec

Visual Codec published a monthly online magazine from February 2006 to February 2007. Its core focus was in-depth coverage of the vibrant regional contemporary visual arts scene showcased by three pivotal Pacific Coast cities: Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Its cross-disciplinary contributors represented some of the region's top-tier talent, including Regina Hackett, Matthew Stadler, Carrie E.A. Scott, Clint Burnham, and cover photographer Alice Wheeler.

In conjunction with the magazine, Visual Codec spearheaded One Shot, a juried book project showcasing both emerging and established regional visual arts talent drawn from Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
